Volunteering

Along with the rest of Society during these unprecedented times, charities are being stretched and challenged, with many facing uncertain futures.  As they adapt to support their beneficiaries in different ways, the need for professionals with the skills and expertise to help them transition is even greater.

With many volunteer opportunities such as the NHS Volunteer Responders now oversubscribed, there are lots of willing and able people keen to help, but without an outlet for their time.  If you are one of those people who has some time to give, then there are still lots of smaller charities who could benefit from your professional knowhow.

As has been discussed before in this blog, volunteering provides benefits to you as well as the organisation you are volunteering for.

Stronger Kent Communities have been coordinating the requirements of charities across Kent and are looking for skilled volunteers who can support across a range of areas, including:

  • HR
  • IT
  • Finance
  • Business Development and Planning
  • Project Management
  • Social Media
  • Design

More details of the charities and their requirements can be found here.  If you are interested in supporting any of these charities, please contact me for more information.

Lucy Woodward, Enterprise and Engagement Manager (Third Sector)

Note: Colleagues are advised to familiarise themselves with the FAQ Guidance on volunteering during this period.
