Canterbury Newsreel 1936

Highlights from Ave Mater Angliae 1936 produced by Sydney Bligh. This was a newsreel of the Canterbury area. Sydney was a keen amateur filmmaker, producing a 90 minute newsreel each year between 1934 and 1939. This film was shot using the new colour film, Kodachrome. These highlights come from reels 2 and 3. Reel 1 is lost and the newspapers at the time described the missing reel as a ‘Tour of Canterbury in Colour!’
