Are you a manager who is new to CCCU and would like to know how things work here? Or have you been at the University for a while, just been promoted into a management position and would like to make sense of your new role? If either of those sound like you, then we are excited to share with you our new pathway of support which can be used in conjunction with the robust local induction you will receive from your own manager.
The starting point on the pathway is the pack of information you will be sent to help navigate your responsibilities and plan your development. It will include helpful guidance documents and checklists, and signpost to other resources.
The next step is to book on the Manager’s Essentials workshop, a day packed full of discussion, support and guidance, and an opportunity to meet other new managers. By the end of the day you will have created a personal development plan to identify your next learning actions, which may include booking on more of the wide variety of workshops aimed at managers and leaders in Christ Church. You will have access to 1-1 coaching sessions and we will also be developing online guidance and setting up managers’ forums.
You might find this diagram helpful in making sense of what is on offer to managers:
If you are new to CCCU in a management role in the last couple of months we will send you your pack automatically over the next few weeks; if you are a current member of staff and are now taking on a management role do contact us to receive your pack.
We would encourage you to book on the Managers’ Essential workshop as spaces are already filling up. And keep an eye out for the new developments we have in store.
If you have any questions about your development please contact us staff.development@canterbury.ac.uk
