‘Understanding Psychosis’ – 21st March 2019 – the latest in our series of public lectures

We are pleased to announce the latest in our series of public lectures at Salomons.

‘Understanding Psychosis’, a talk by Anne Cooke and John Richardson, will be held on Thursday 21st March at 6.30 to 7.30pm.

Many people hear voices, believe things that others find strange, or sometimes appear out of touch with reality. These experiences are sometimes seen as symptoms of psychosis or schizophrenia. But what is ‘psychosis’? Recent research suggests that experiences like hearing voices can be understood in the same way as other psychological problems like anxiety or shyness. Thinking of them as an illness is only one way of thinking about them. They are often related to things that happen in our lives.
