John Clague (RIBA) set up Clague Architects in Canterbury in the 1930s. He was a keen amateur filmmaker and produced an annual newsreel of Herne Bay between 1935 and 1970.

An important view of history here. On the opposite corner – across from Twymans AND next to the cinema had been a café with offices upstairs… architect (Mr. Kaye). an accountant and estate agent. Just round the corner (Chantry) was on the ground floor an insurance office. In this film you’ll see the -er – remains!
