This film was made by William Taylor Allen, a chartered civil engineer, who designed and oversaw the building of the two iconic square arches that enabled cars to drive directly onto the roll on – roll off car ferries at Dover. He had been making amateur films since before the war and was a member of the Dover Film Society.
