SGO: Fairtrade chocolate ‘Taste-Off’ event!

While Fairtrade products offer a wide range of benefits, one of the greatest things about choosing Fairtrade chocolate is ensuring a fair wage to the cocoa farmers and their employees, as well as giving them the chance to develop in a sustainable way.

In the UK, Divine Chocolate is the first chocolate company which is co-owned by cocoa farmers from Ghana, Twin Trading and The Body Shop. The company was established in 1998 and in less than twenty years of activity it came up with over 30 products in the divine range of treats and the company comes up with new ones every year. And the good news do not stop here. On Monday the 29th February, between 1 and 3 p.m. in the Touchdown Café there will be a Fairtrade Chocolate Tasting Event in celebration of Fairtrade Fortnight and Divine Chocolate is one of our providers.

Our other provider is The Meaningful Chocolate Company which is very creative in promoting the consumption of Fairtrade products. They are the first company in the UK to wrap their treats in wrappers which promote World Heritage sites. Wouldn’t this be the sweetest type of souvenir? Also, over the last six years the company donated more than £140.000 to charitable projects. Sweet!

So, what are you waiting for? Come to the Touchdown Café on the above mentioned dates and try some Fairtrade goodies with us!
