For many of you this may be your first visit to our blog site (where have you been??), so we thought we’d dedicate this one to say a little more about what is planned for the coming weeks.
Regular readers of blogs of all kinds will know they are a more informal space to share thoughts, put forward ideas, explore curiosities. In the Organisational and People Development Team we muse often about people, places, teams, systems, behaviours, wellbeing and, of course, development of the personal and professional kind. We thought that in the midst of the upheaval we are all experiencing that we would invite you to join us in this exploration.
As our regular ways of working are turned upside down, perhaps this the opportunity to reflect on our own roles, teams, careers and stretch our learning and knowledge a little. Also, lets be honest, maybe we will have the time and headspace to do that away from busy offices, seminar rooms, and all the other distractions that get in the way of us sharpening our own tools to be future ready. Whatever that future may now hold for us all.
We are committing to posting daily weekday blogs (although we might regret that if we are still working like this in six months time!), and we have planned a wide range of topics that will be directly or, at times, more loosely connected with personal and professional development, and wellbeing at work. This might be our own reflections, links to articles or videos to watch, ideas of development activities, challenges or provocations.
Blogs will be written largely by members of our team, however we would love guest contributions too – if you have an idea please get in touch with us people.development@canterbury.ac.uk
We hope that you enjoy our daily offerings, please do comment below and let us know. See you tomorrow!
I look forward to reading this blog on a regular basis.
Thank you for creating this blog.
