Whitstable Street

Filmed in the 1950s by William Furness who was a postman in Whitstable. This was shot on colour 9.5mm film which was relatively unusual. William started making films before the war and continued up until his death in 1963. He concentrated his amateur filmmaking on recording his family.

  1. First scene is Albert Street heading up from Acton Road. Second scene is Warwick Road junction with Victoria Street. The Furness family lived in Warwick Road.
