Find out more about what 24/7 means for you below.

Students and Staff

Out of standard opening hours, the library will operate on a self-service basis. A University smartcard will be required to access the building after 6pm on weekdays and during the weekends. If you have lost your Smartcard you should contact the i-zone.

While we appreciate everyone learns in different ways, we ask everyone to be respectful of other library users during this time and follow our code of conduct. Please ensure you are studying in an appropriate zone for the work you’re carrying out.

#StressLess

The StressLess zone is available on the second-floor atrium, to help you relax and take much-needed breaks while you’re studying. The StressLess zone contains lots of resources, games, puzzles and crafts to help you unwind. We also have a range of StressLess activities planned. Across March there are three events in Augustine House based on the theme of eco-hope.

  • Thursday 7 March – 1:00 – 5:00 – Augustine House second floor StressLess area.
  • Thursday 14 March – 1:00 – 5:00 – Augustine House second floor StressLess area.
  • Thursday 28 March – 1:00 – 5:00 – Augustine House second floor StressLess area.

Featuring an exciting range of green crafts, upcycling and more. Have a look at the student news to find out what’s on.

We’ll also have StressLess events on Thursday 18 April and Thursday 23 May.

Your Digital Library

Cannot make it to the library?  Take advantage of your digital library available online 24/7 from the comfort of your own home?

As well as the traditional academic books and journals in the library you can discover a wealth of online resources including e-books, e-journals, streaming services like Box of Broadcasts and Kanopy.  All the journal articles you find using LibrarySearch which are shown as ‘full text’ are available to read online off-campus.

Keep up to date with some of the most recent additions to your digital library.

Visitors

Given the pressure on University learning spaces, we cannot give visitors access to learning spaces during the revision and assessment periods, this includes the use of learning spaces in Augustine House between 4 March 2024 – 24 May 2024.

SCONUL Access, alumni and paid memberships

Members of the SCONUL Access Scheme, alumni, retired staff, special memberships and paying members may use the Library during the 24/7 period but will only have access to the building between 9:00 – 18:00 on weekdays and 9:00 – 17:00 at weekends. You may need to ring the doorbell to gain access to the building at weekends. Please present your library card if requested.
