Just heard about another lecture next week that looks well worth attending, especially for those interested in how and why the First World War was fought, and the moral implications of the conflict. Professor Nigel Biggar is an expert in this field and has published the controversial book In Defence of War (OUP, 2013), which means, I think, we are going to have a lively debate on Thursday 27 November. His lecture begins at 6pm in Old Sessions House and he is speaking on: ‘1914–18: Was Britain Right to Fight?’ I understand tickets can be booked at www.canterbury.ac.uk/shop/PublicLectures
