Dr Anne Nortcliffe shortlisted for Engineering Talent Award celebrating inspiring leaders

Dr Anne Nortcliffe, the University’s first Head of School for Engineering, Technology and design, has been nominated for an Engineering Talent Award.

The awards raise the profile of the engineering and technology profession across the UK and highlights the diversity of organisations and engineers.

Dr Nortcliffe has been shortlisted in the Executive leader of the Year category, which celebrates inspirational executive leaders who use their experience to pave the way for creating an inclusive culture and opening the industry to diverse groups, enabling others to do the same.

Joining the University in 2017, Dr Nortcliffe has developed, supported and led the growth of the University’s Kent and Medway Engineering, Design, Growth and Enterprise (EDGE) Hub and the School of Engineering, Technology and Design.

She has worked with businesses to design of the new Engineering curriculum to support the regional economy by addressing higher level skills shortages in STEM subjects, as well as establishing a culture that supports women to study and develop their careers in Engineering.

The winners will be announced at an event on Thursday, 9 September in London.
