Why I Chose to Study… Computing

by Lewis Warner, Year 1 Computing student, Canterbury Christ Church University

I knew I always wanted to become a teacher and, at 26 years of age, the time was right to go back into education. However, without A’ levels, I thought it would be impossible!

I enquired at 2 different universities but the course lecturers at Canterbury Christ Church University took time to listen to my story and circumstances and help pave a way on to my degree programme. I chose to join CCCU as a mature student because of the help and support pre-application from the lecturers and course team in the Computing department.

Computing (or ICT as it was back when I was at school!) was always the subject I did best at, so the Computing degree programme on offer at CCCU was the perfect choice for me! Since beginning my degree, the University and the teaching staff have been there every step of the way, and I haven’t looked back! I’ve even made some new friends!
