Here’s a video which captures part of the excellent launch day activites. Another video and a podcast of this opening speech and the public lecture that followed are on the way, but in the meantime, here are a few photos.

The exhibition is currently being displayed on Anselm Lawn, North Holmes Road campus, Canterbury
It poses a series of ‘University Challenges’ designed to engage students with developing ideas for our shared future.
Our Vice-Chancellor gave an address at the launch, attended by staff and students at all levels of our organisation
And Michael Morpurgo OBE gave a stirring opening speech about the critical importance of engaging with sustainability
From left to right: Dr. Stephen Scoffham – Visiting Reader in Sustainability at CCCU
Professor Rama Thirunamachandran – Vice Chancellor and Principal of CCCU
Michael Morpurgo OBE – Christ Church Honorary Doctor and former British Children’s Laureate
Mark Edwards – international environmental photographer and co-creator of the WHOLE EARTH? project
Dr Peter Rands – Director of Sustainability Development at CCCU
We’d just like to say thank you to everyone who came along and to all those who worked to make it happen. The WHOLE EARTH? exhibition is only on the Canterbury campus for three more weeks, though, so pop over and see it while you still can! It will be spending November and December split between our Broadstairs and Medway campuses, before being shipped off to one of our partner organisations, Kerala State University in India!
And, if you’re interested in getting involved with developing some responses to the University Challenges, or you’d like to let us know what you think of the wider project – drop an email to felicity.ravenwood@canterbury.ac.uk – we’d love to hear from you.
