Number lines: Dry wipe -10 – +10

set of number lines displaying -10 to +10. These are all wipeable.

Number lines are a great visual aid when it comes to developing children’s mental awareness and understanding of numbers and the principles behind addition and subtraction. These number lines can then help children move onto the next level, developing an understanding for different ranges within the number system. There is the added bonus of providing a wipe clean surface allowing children to get fully involved when working out their sums.

Each box contains ten dry wipe number lines.

Classroom ideas
  • Number sequences
  • Recognition and mathematical equations of positive and negative numbers

Algebra Tiles – pack of 15

an assortment of hard plastic algebra tiles large squares, small squares and lines.

The set includes an assortment of large squares 10×10, strips 1×5 and small squares 1×1. All pieces come in dual bright colours.

As children get older they are taught a wider range of mathematical and number concepts, this can put greater strain on young minds when trying to understand and answer such sums mentally. Providing a visual resource can really help some children develop a strong, fast understanding of these ideas. This is where algebra tiles can really be a useful tool.

Classroom ideas
  • To assist children to understand fractions and ratios
  • For higher mathematical terms such as equations, factoring and algebraic expression.

Geometric solids: 2D/3D

twelve plastic geometric shapes with removable base allowing access internally. Internally is a removable shape net.

The box contains twelve bright (red, yellow, green or blue), good sized geometric shapes. Each providing a removable base or section allowing access to the internal dimensions. This also provides access to the internal 2D shape template.

Developing an understanding of shapes and the idea that they are all around us happens very early on in a child’s education, but it doesn’t end there. These shapes can be used to help children understand the difference between 2D and 3D shapes, but also a wide range of other shape related concepts.

Classroom ideas
  • Shape recognition, 2D & 3D
  • Shape volume
  • Shape nets and shape construction
