CCCU Research Portal is the new CCCU institutional repository, replacing Research Space Repository.
We encourage all CCCU researchers, including research students, to add their research outputs to Pure* so that:
- Journal articles and conference proceedings published with an ISSN are REF eligible. The final author version of articles and conference proceedings must be deposited in the repository within 3 months of publication in order to be eligible for entry into the next REF.
- Your research is collated in one place so it can be found and shared easily.
- Your research is kept securely online with a persistent URL.
- You have a record of your research that you can link to and use to promote your research.
Other benefits of using Pure include:
- Open Access articles are cited more frequently than articles available via paywalls.
- Institutional repositories provide for the long-term preservation of research and offer a show case for the University’s research.
- Researchers can see how their research connects with others in the University and show their collaborations with researchers around the world.
- Pure complies with international standards favoured by Google, ensuring deposits in the repository rank higher in search results.
* NB: Only staff with a research contract can log in to Pure. If you are a member of Professional Services staff or a PGR student, please contact repository@canterbury.ac.uk and we can deposit your items for you.
Please see video below for an overview of the CCCU Research Portal:
JISC Publications Router
The Jisc Publications Router is integrated with Pure. The integration enables researchers’ outputs to be harvested directly into Pure. Publications Router gathers outputs from content providers and publishers including BMJ, Elsevier, Crossref, PubMed, Sage, Springer Nature, The Royal Society and Wiley.
Publications Router integrates outputs that have not yet been added to Pure, and notifies us of any changes to existing outputs such as publication date or DOI, which will enable us to update your output’s information in the repository.
ORCID
Publications Router finds matches based on researchers’ profiles, including your ORCID, in your Pure account, so it is important that your ORCID is included in your account. Also, once you have set up your ORCID in Pure (academic staff only), you should be able to transfer your research outputs to and from the repository.
If you are a member of Professional Services staff or a PGR student, please contact us at repository@canterbury.ac.uk with your ORCID number, and we can add it to your Pure profile for you. It will show on your profile but your research outputs will not update automatically.
Help with CCCU Research Portal
Please note that this change does not affect your use of Cayuse/Research Space for funding applications, ethics, or Graduate College processes as these will continue as normal.
If you are a member of academic staff, you can receive training in Pure through the RKEM training programme. If you work in professional services, please email us to arrange a session – this can be either as a group or on a one-to-one basis, in person or on Teams.
If you are a research student (MRes or doctorate), you will receive training in Pure via the Researcher Development Programme.
