Volunteer Opportunity of the Week – Schools Outreach Liaison Volunteer

 

Canterbury Cathedral’s Schools department are seeking a Schools Outreach Liaison Volunteer to assist in engaging primary and secondary schools to participate in the Schools Outreach programme and Loans Box scheme of replica artefacts and associated learning materials for use in the classroom, inspired by Canterbury Cathedral’s heritage and the historic collections.

Working closely with the Community Engagement Manager tasks will include to send out promotional and marketing material, promoting Canterbury Cathedral, its heritage and collections, producing spreadsheets to assist with confirmation of bookings and being a public face of Canterbury Cathedral and The Canterbury Journey Project.

Candidates must have excellent communication skills in person; via telephone and electronically, have the ability to engage with people from all ages and backgrounds and be able to work independently as necessary. Full training and support from the Cathedral specialist staff will be given.

It is hoped that interested volunteers will be able to commit to a minimum of one day a week commencing Monday 23 January 2017 to end June 2017 for this project.
