Welcome to another useful function on The CORE, The Cover Letter Builder! Very similar to the CV builder, this tool takes you through the process of writing your cover letter, step-by-step.

Access it under the same tile as the CV Builder, “CVs and Applications”. Clicking ‘Create Your Cover Letter’ takes you straight through to the builder.

Work through each section and include the content you need, taking into account the job description and person specification for the role you’re applying for.

Correctly structuring your covering letter is the first step to getting it right.

Click on the ‘Sections’ button for an overview of the sections needed in your cover letter.

You are given the opportunity to save the document to your computer, print, or save to your CORE documents, which can be accessed from the ‘My Account’ drop-down on the main dashboard.

And that’s it! You now have your completed cover letter to use for your next job application. Don’t forget to tailor this for each application that you make.
