The Careers and Enterprise Team at CCCU are here to support all students. However, we recognise that our final year students and alumni are facing a very challenging time moving into a graduate labour market unlike ever before. Here are 8 ways we can support you to get career ready.
1. Make sure you have a graduate CV
Get your CV checked and reviewed online!
Log onto the Careers and Enterprise Online Hub to access the CV360 tool – it will instantly check your CV against over 50 criteria that employers use. Then send your updated CV to careers@canterbury.ac.uk for a final review.
2. Prepare for video interviews
Practise your technique online
Employers are now hiring via video interviews. You can practise with our Interview Simulator on the Careers and Enterprise Online Hub. You can read more about new recruitment processes via the Careers and Enterprise Blog.
3. Work for emerging companies
Find a great job local in Kent & Medway with GradForce – it is not too late to sign up!
Sign up to GradForce for an online Bootcamp in June 2020 – with the aim of preparing you for local graduate roles in Kent and Medway with small & medium sized companies.
4. Consider further study
Continue at CCCU for a Masters or PhD
A postgraduate degree can add considerably to your skills and knowledge that employers desire. CCCU offer many degrees that prepare you for the world of work, including management, research and more, with alumni discounts available. Check out the upcoming information sessions in June to learn about how a postgraduate degree might be perfect for you.
5. Network with others like you
Sign up the CCCU Alumni Hub
Accessing the CCCU Alumni Hub will allow you to see how other CCCU students succeeded after graduation. Creating a LinkedIn profile is key to networking, with support on this offered by the Careers and Enterprise Team.
6. Attend online workshops
Develop your career skills and knowledge
Online skills workshops open for all can be accessed on the Careers and Enterprise Hub. Watch out for our special series of IT skills workshops coming summer 2020.
7. Ask for help
Support available for all students and alumni
