We are pleased to announce the opening of a new sensory room in Augustine House. The sensory room is a space for students to reset between studying or social sessions. The space has been designed with neurodiverse people in mind with adjustable lighting, comfortable seating and a range of ways to control your sensory experience.
You’ll find the sensory room on the ground floor of Augustine House behind the Library Point in room AHg.03a. If you need help finding it, just ask a member of staff.
The room will be available when you need it throughout our core building hours but not overnight during 24/7.

Using the Sensory room
There are instructions including health and safety information in the room on how to make use of the equipment inside, including
- Caiyue projector light
- Daylight UnoLamp Floor
- Blueair dehumidifier
We ask all users to please respect this space as a sensory room. It should not be used:
- For consuming food or drink – especially those that have strong smells
- To work or have extended study sessions
- For sleeping or napping
- As a social space
Please remember the room may need to be used by fellow students at the same time, so please be prepared to share the space if needed and avoid using the room for extended periods.

Expect Respect
Whilst using the room please remember to give and get respect from others:
- Respect that other people may not want to chat or interact
- Respect that others may need to access the room if you’ve been using it for a while
- Respect that some individuals may need priority use of the space, and that physical or mental health conditions may not be immediately obvious
