24/7 at Augustine House – What does it mean for you?

Augustine House exterior

We are delighted to announce that from 28 October 2024 until 17 January 2025, Augustine House will be open 24/7 to help support our students and staff in the lead-up to and during the assessment period. 24/7 access won’t be available from 16 December – 1 January and Augustine House will be closed on the national bank holidays, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Given the pressure on University learning spaces, we cannot give access to visitors during this revision and assessment period. Members of the SCONUL Access Scheme and other paid members may use the Library during this time for set hours.

Find out more about what 24/7 means for you below.

Students, staff and alumni

Out of standard opening hours, the library will operate on a self-service basis. A University ID card will be required to access the building after 6pm on weekdays and during the weekends. If you have lost your University ID card you should contact the i-zone. Alumni members will need to ring the doorbell to access the building during evenings and weekends. Be prepared to present your card to security when enter the building.

While we appreciate everyone learns in different ways, we ask everyone to be respectful of other library users during this time and follow our regulations and terms of service. Please ensure you are studying in an appropriate zone for the work you’re carrying out.

Stressless

To help you relax and take much-needed breaks whilst you’re studying, the Stressless Zone is available on the second floor of Augustine House. You’ll discover a range of games, puzzles and crafts to help you unwind. We have two Stressless events planned during the 24/7 period. Our upcoming events are:

  • Tuesday 12 November (13:00 – 17:00 – Second floor of Augustine House)
  • Thursday 5 December (13:00 – 17:00 – Second floor of Augustine House)
Looking after your wellbeing with... Stressless.
