Coping with the Global Energy Crisis

On Wednesday 7 December from 6.30 pm onwards, the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Social Sciences at Canterbury Christ Church University is hosting a free evening Beacon Event concerning the Global Energy Crisis.

The occasion brings together scholars of Politics and International Relations to explore key issues relating to the global energy crisis including the impact of the war in Ukraine on European and global energy prices, how the global energy crisis has impacted beyond Europe, including in Africa and more widely how it has impacted on questions of global security. The event will also enable extensive questions and discussion from the audience.

Expert analysis

Expertise will be provided by the following speakers:

  • Dr Dele Babalola – Senior Lecturer, School of Law, Policing and Social Sciences
  • Professor David Bates – Professor of Contemporary Political Thought, School of Law, Policing and Social Sciences
  • Dr Sarah Lieberman – Senior Lecturer, School of Law, Policing and Social Sciences
  • Dr Natalia Slobodian – Head of Department, Climate Change and Environment Protection at DTEK
