Diamond Netwalking Club – walk 3

Hop picking

To celebrate the University’s 60th year, we will be remembering and celebrating everything we have achieved through a number of events, community engagement activities, and much more.

Have you attended any Jubilee events so far?

What’s next?

Business partners, staff, and students are invited to join the Enterprise and Engagement team on the third of four themed walks throughout our Jubilee year. Take this opportunity to network and find out more about the University, its collaborations, and its facilities.

Testimonials from walk 2

‘I made some great connections with the incredibly friendly Enterprise and Engagement team which has directly and positively impacted my work at the University. On top of it all, I got to take a peek inside the old Prison (something I’ve wanted to do in a while) and it was finished off by a delicious scone and tea reception. I’d highly recommend attending these events.’

– Sam Stuart, Project Lead – Nursing Placement Expansion Project

‘The netwalking initiative at Canterbury Christ Church University is a great way to meet and connect with internal colleagues and external businesses. I’d really recommend for anyone, internal or external, to attend the next event.’

-Laura Wasley, Student Development Coordinator

You’re invited > Autumn hops

Join us on 7th September for an opportunity to make new connections, network and learn more about how we make our homegrown, Green Hops Ale.

The theme for this walk is hops. With Autumn on the horizon, it’s a time when we welcome new students to the University and our annual harvest begins. On the day, help us gather the hops at the Christ Church hop garden, followed by a free self-guided tour of St. Augustine’s Abbey before walking to the Foundry, in Canterbury City centre, for a free beer where you will hear about how these fine plants reach their ultimate potential!

Hop picking starts from 9.30am, followed by the visit to St. Augustine’s Abbey at 11.00am and the Foundry at 12.30pm.

Where to meet: At the front of the Verena Holmes Building, accessible by foot from North Holmes Road or Longport, Canterbury
