This Friday afternoon we’re having a crescendo to Launch Your Career week with an Alumni Panel, who will give a short introduction about themselves, then you’ll be welcome to ask them questions about leaving University, finding work after graduating, making decisions about what to do, staying positive and handling job rejections… or anything else that may help you in your future career.

Name: Will Cooper
Job title: My current position is with The London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF), working as an Assessment Production Co-ordinator.
One sentence about what that means you do: The role is responsible for ensuring that assessments are properly developed and delivered for the professional qualifications for the awarding body, both in the UK and internationally.
Name: Catherine Thomas
Job title: Business Continuity Manager at NHS England and Improvememt
One sentence about what that means you do: At a corporate level, we ensure NHS England and Improvement are able to continue delivering their priority services during times of disruptions. Our priority is the delivery of healthcare to our patients.
Name: John Smith
Job title: My job title is Policy Advisor for the Department of Health and Social Care.
One sentence about what that means you do: I sit within the Social Distancing Strategy Directorate, my role is centred around developing Non-Pharmaceutical Intervention policy. What this means to me is that I’m working in the thick of the Government’s response to Covid and really just doing my bit to help us overcome this disease.
Name: Jennifer Dominic
Job title: Chief of staff to Managing Director, MSD UK & Founder of Wenite
One sentence about what that means you do: As a Chief of Staff, I work with the leader of the UK subsidiary of a global pharmaceutical company to implement strategic initiatives, act as a confidant and advisor to the managing director and support the leadership team solve problems. As the founder of Wenite, I run an online social enterprise, with a mission to increase the awareness of STEM careers students, graduates and seasoned professionals through the lens of those already working in the various scientific industries.
Name: David Hatherill
Job title: Kent Women’s Cricket Head Coach & TOP Cricket Academy Director
One sentence about what that means you do: This means that I am work at the top end of the Kent W&G’s performance pathway working with our elite players. As TOP Cricket Academy Director I run alongside 2 others a cricket coaching company based in Bexley delivering to players of all ages.
