Evidence examining the current strategic review of the EU’s Foreign and Security policy by Dr. Amelia Hadfield, Director of the Jean Monnet Centre for European Studies (CEFEUS) within the Politics/IR team at Canterbury Christ Church University has been published by the House of Lords’ EU External Affairs Sub-Committee. Available as of 30th October from the Parliament website, Dr Hadfield’s evidence focused on HRVP Mogherini’s report on “The European Union in a changing global environment” whose “process of strategic reflection” should reflect both Member State interests and EU capabilities and requirements. The viewpoints contained in the document encompassed recent perspectives from British civil servants working within EU institutions and Dr Hadfield’s reflections based on research and analysis on key aspects of EU foreign and security policy. Other published papers include those from academics at the London School of Economics and the University of Kent, as well as the German Development Institute and King’s College London.
