The top performing students on the Politics Programme course ‘EU: Power Politics and Institutions’ were rewarded with an EU funded trip to the European Parliament courtesy of local South-East MEP Ms Sharon Bowles. Unfortunately Ms Bowles was stuck in Committee but Mr. Peter Skinner stepped in to provide a passionate argument for British participation in the EU followed by a Q and A session. After a tour of the Parliament and its wonderful interactive museum the group got a full taste of the Continental life with an overnight stay in lovely Bruges! This year’s students will build on Canterbury’s growing links with the European Parliament by going on to represent the UK at the European Youth Event in Strasbourg, May, 2014.
