Ghost Story Competition Now Open!

Inspired by the tradition of M. R. James and Christmas ghost stories, we are pleased to once again launch our annual ghost story competition!

Send in your most terrifying and tiny tales. Submissions should be no longer than 1000 words.

The competition is open to all current CCCU students and members of staff. Judges will award the best staff and the best student entry a £30 voucher from the University Bookshop and a copy of “Complete Ghost Stories” by M. R. James.

If you would like to learn more about writing ghost stories, you can join in a free workshop with Danny Rhodes (Lecturer, Creative and Professional Writing) on January 27th at 15:00. This two-hour session will guide you through the tricks of the genre and give you insight into creating your own ghoulish story. The event is open to all current CCCU staff and students and you can book your place here.

The deadline for submission is 9:00 AM Monday, February 14th. Submit your entries to artsandculture@canterbury.ac.uk

Good luck!
