Workshop Name – BLACKBOARD ULTRA: BASE NAVIGATION (Phase 1)
Join our 30 min ‘Show and TEL’ session which explains what and why changes have been made to Blackboard. Receive an overview of the new environment and orientation of the new enhanced features available. You can use this session to understand how this may impact you, and where you can get further support and guidance.

Scheduled sessions are bookable via StaffSpace.

Workshop Name – BLACKBOARD ULTRA: BUILDING YOUR MODULE SITES (Phase 2) Virtual and Face-to-Face.

This session will demonstrate how to copy content from an existing Original module site across to a new Ultra module site, as well as show you how to build or edit content such as folders, documents and links. Enrol and communicate with your students by adding an announcement or using the messages (email) tool within Blackboard.

(45 min face-to-face session – 20 min demo and 25 min hands on + Q&A)
In addition, the face-to-face session will give staff time to actively start moving content from their Original module sites to their new Ultra module site. The trainer will remain in the room to provide hands-on support. (Please ensure your new Ultra site has been created and that you have access to it prior to attending this session).

Workshop Name – BLACKBOARD ORIGINAL: AN INTRODUCTION
This development session, designed in the main for academic staff, introduces the Blackboard interface and features.  It will demonstrate how to post announcements, create folders, upload content, insert web links, as well as managing and communicating with your users.

Scheduled sessions are bookable via StaffSpace or you may opt for the self-directed training module on the HR & OD e-Learning portal.

  • Go to the HR&OD e-Learning portal
  • Select the ‘Access the e-learning portal’ link on that webpage
  • Next, select the ‘Dashboard’ drop-down from the top left corner of the screen and select ‘Catalogue’
  • Enter the name of the workshop in the search bar at the top of the screen, e.g. ‘Blackboard’
  • Select to ‘Enrol’

Workshop Name – BLACKBOARD & TURNITIN FOR ADMINISTRATORS
This development session, designed in the main for academic administration staff who may be responsible for setting up Turnitin Assignments within module Blackboards.  This session will demonstrate which set-up steps are required depending on the type of Assignment that has been set. As well as teach you some of the smaller tasks that may be required of you for Blackboard, such as posting announcements, managing users and creating folders.

This training can be booked via StaffSpace.
