As unlikely as it may sound to you, humans are inherently good and want to make the world around them a better place; compassion for one another is a driving motivator for good and people, by design, love people and want them to have a good life on a healthy planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So here\u2019s a round up of all the good, life-affirming news I could find from this month. Please, sit back, relax, and feel good about the world for a few minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many things are not terrible.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Previously undiscovered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.essex.ac.uk\/news\/2023\/04\/17\/scientists-discover-pristine-deep-sea-coral-reefs-in-galapagos\">extensive coral reefs have been found<\/a> in the Gal\u00e1pagos<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>During work to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.positive.news\/environment\/ocean-rewilding-englands-largest-seagrass-restoration-project-gets-under-way\/\">restore the UK\u2019s marine seagrass meadows<\/a>, a new one has been found, the largest yet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A new study has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nejm.org\/doi\/full\/10.1056\/NEJMoa2209046?query=featured_home\">unravelled the genetic causes for developmental disorders<\/a> in thousands of children<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>According to a new study, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/social-trends\/2023\/04\/13\/in-a-growing-share-of-u-s-marriages-husbands-and-wives-earn-about-the-same\/\">US husbands and wives are equal breadwinners<\/a> in households now<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.positive.news\/environment\/food\/lab-grown-meat-can-it-save-our-bacon\/\">\u00a312 million has been injected into the lab-grown meat industry<\/a> by the UK government, a trailblazing research topic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Book publishing is bigger than ever as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.publishers.org.uk\/publishing-industry-shows-resilience-with-record-breaking-growth\/\">more people are reading now than in previous years<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.woodlandtrust.org.uk\/support-us\/give\/appeals\/snaizeholme\/\">reforesting project in the Yorkshire Dales<\/a> has begun<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Brecon Beacons has changed its name to restore its Welsh heritage \u2013 Bannau Brycheiniog \u2013 as the first step in a <a href=\"https:\/\/future.bannau.wales\/\">five-year plan to \u2018halt and reverse\u2019 the ravages of climate change<\/a> across the mountains<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.positive.news\/environment\/the-worlds-first-rewilding-centre-has-opened-in-scotland\/\">World\u2019s first rewilding centre has opened<\/a> in Scotland<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A UK community rewilding fund, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saveourwildisles.org.uk\/community\/fund\">Save Our Wild Isles,<\/a> was launched<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencefocus.com\/news\/artemis-mooon-astronauts-crew\/\">includes both a woman and a Black man on the crew<\/a>; all lunar missions before were completed by exclusively white men<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transport for London has published their <a href=\"https:\/\/content.tfl.gov.uk\/tfl-cargo-bike-action-plan-2023.pdf\">cargo bike plan,<\/a> for more environmentally sustainable travel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wild campers have won the right to appeal to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justgiving.com\/campaign\/BackpackCampingAppeal?fbclid=PAAabUlHqR900px7K5PNeMtYJC7C6hwacaTGeuZV_wfeoCbb5bLOEkxDQDrhk\">allowed to once again camp at Dartmoor<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/healthcare-pharmaceuticals\/ghana-first-approve-oxfords-malaria-vaccine-2023-04-12\/\">Ghana approved a pioneering malaria vaccine<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Britain\u2019s loudest bird has made a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/2023\/apr\/06\/uk-loudest-bird-bittern-bumper-breeding-season#:~:text=Bitterns%20became%20locally%20extinct%20in,its%20most%20successful%20breeding%20seasons.\">comeback
