The news hasn\u2019t been all fun and games and there have been some not-so-spectacular events as of late, that have even got <em>me <\/em>down, and I barely look at the news as it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So today\u2019s monthly round-up feels more important than ever. There are hard times. There are bad things. There are incredibly sucky, overwhelmingly upsetting news stories that will make their way to you whether you have your eyes open or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But there\u2019s also the good. There\u2019s also the great. There\u2019s also the wildly, beautifully incredible. Because humans don\u2019t <em>all <\/em>suck. There are some out there trying to do better for this planet, for you, and some who want to make spaces more welcoming, more inviting, so that everyone feels safe and comfortable and loved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So let\u2019s take two minutes to sit down, breathe deeply, and read about the good news February had to deliver us. And there is some <em>really <\/em>good news.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Spain passed a law allowing anyone over sixteen to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2023\/feb\/16\/spain-passes-law-allowing-anyone-over-16-to-change-registered-gender\">change their registered gender<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spain passed a law entitling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2023\/2\/16\/spain-approves-menstrual-leave-teen-abortion-and-trans-laws\">all workers to paid menstrual leave<\/a> (the first country in Europe to do so)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spain <em>also <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2023\/2\/16\/spain-approves-menstrual-leave-teen-abortion-and-trans-laws\">expanded abortion laws and will be providing free period products<\/a> in schools and prisons.
