Last Friday saw the return of the annual Christ Church International food and Culture fayre. The food fayre was a lot of fun and a great way to experience other cultures. This year the SGO had three members present with two separate tables, one specifically for vegan bites and the other to showcase sustainable sourced food…
The vegan SGO table featured all home-baked goods including a lemon and almond drizzle cake, ‘sausage’ rolls and gluten free cheese scones.
The sustainable table featured locally farmed cheese on crackers with a plum chutney, cherry and chocolate brownies and coronation chicken.
It was not just great food being on offer but music from other countries, as well as a wedding henna ceremony demonstration by the Algerian table and also singing by the Slovakia stand who wore national dress. Other countries and cuisines being showcased were Cyprus, the vegan and vegetarian society and also Uzbekistan.
