POST Apocalypse
To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the publication of Riddley Walker by Russell Hoban, SaveAs Writers are looking for poems and short stories which respond to the themes of this novel. Write about an area, a society, a world before, during or after a nuclear disaster, a pandemic, a deluge or any other disaster.
You might narrow the scope to write about an individual’s personal disaster. The mood can be negative or positive. Your work might even reflect Hoban’s interest in the distortion of historical memory and of language. It’s not necessary to read the novel but we hope you do!
