Understanding Your Foundation Year and Level 4 Results.

Foundation Year and Level 4 students (non-professional programmes) will be receiving your academic progression results today via your university email address.

Please note that the results will be released in batches throughout the day between 10.00am and 5.00pm. Please check your email and if you have not received a communication by the end of the day please contact the i-zone via email i-zone@canterbury.ac.uk who will investigate for you from tomorrow.

How has the University made a decision on my progress?

Our aim has been to support the progression of all students who have the potential to succeed.

A Board of Examiners, chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and including senior academic members of staff representing each Faculty, reviewed student achievement based on Semester 1 /Trimester 1 module marks.

Based on agreed criteria, the Board of Examiners confirmed that each student’s Semester 1 performance fell into one of the following 2 categories:

  • Pass & Proceed: those whose Semester 1 / Trimester 1 module profile has demonstrated they have the potential to pass their current level and succeed at the next level of study (or stage of part-time programme).
  • Further Information Required: those whose Semester 1 / Trimester 1 module profiles do not provide sufficient information to demonstrate the potential to pass their current level and succeed at the next level of study.

These students will have a supported progression conversation with their Programme Teams. The purpose of the progression conversation is to combine yours and your programme team’s evidence of your engagement in your studies and give you every possible opportunity to demonstrate that you have the ability to progress to and succeed at the next level of study.
