Advice for Postgraduate Research Student.

Advice for Postgraduate Research Student.

The Graduate College is here to support our Postgraduate Research Students during these exceptional times.  They will be conducting business as usual by virtual means and are contactable via the Graduate College email address:

If you are a postgraduate research student, you should continue your studies off campus and work on your thesis.  You should also continue to have regular supervision meetings and review meetings virtually (by Skype, Microsoft Teams, telephone etc.).  Please continue to record your supervision meetings on Research Space as usual.

We are currently developing virtual mode delivery of the remaining Researcher Development Programme (RDP) sessions for 2019/20, and we will publish details soon.

Please note that all primary research involving face-to-face human participation must cease with immediate effect, as should any primary research or experiments that are taking place on university premises, including laboratories.  We will be publishing further guidance on approaches to research continuity for all types of primary research very soon.  Please look at the Advice for Staff on these pages in relation to primary research, which also applies to postgraduate research students.

We are exploring the implications of these restrictions on primary research for your studies, and for your registration and registration period, and we will develop and publish some advice and guidance soon.   While change requests can be submitted via Research Space as usual, please do not submit any change requests relating to the impact of COVID-19 until we have published advice and guidance.

We will keep you informed of updates on a regular basis.
