Join a Club or Society

Whether you want to start a new hobby, discover a new talent or join a sports team there will be a club or society for you.  So make sure you go along to the Students’ Union Freshers’ Fayre on Wednesday 19 September at both Canterbury and Medway to find out more – as well as grab yourself a freebie or two! Meet new People

Worried about making friends at uni? You will not be the only one and it’s nowhere near as scary as you’d think! Clubs and Societies are a great way to find others who share your interest and passion. Look out for events such as Chooseday Chill which is every Tuesday and offers a relaxed environment for people to meet up over free tea and toast and board games. And don’t forget to sign up for a Peer Mentor who can show you around university and help you settle in.

Try Volunteering

It is a fact that volunteering makes you happy! Supporting a cause that you believe in can have a positive impact on your life and the lives of those around you.  And by including volunteering experience on your CV you will demonstrate key skills and your dedication to potential employers. Get Fit

Eating healthy and exercising helps to also recharge your brain and concentrate better. So keeping fit will help you with your studies! Christ Church Sport offers an extensive programme of sport and recreational opportunities at every level.  So whether it is taking part in a fitness classes, giving rock climbing a go or joining the gym you can find an enjoyable activity to suit you.

Go Green

Christ Church University is passionate about sustainability and there are lots of ways in which you can get involved, whether it is being more conscious about how you recycle at University, tending an allotment on campus or joining the Student Green Office.

Find a job

Learn a Language

What better way to broaden your horizons than learn a new language. At CCCU, if your programmes allows, you can study stand-alone modules in Contemporary Language Studies as part of, or alongside, your course. Even if you study languages in addition to your undergraduate degree the extra classes are free of charge, making this a great way to enhance your CV.
