The government has announced that the remaining students who have not been able to return to face-to-face on campus teaching will be able to return from 17 May as part of Step 3 of the government’s Roadmap. Students who are currently eligible to come on to campus (see below) can continue to do so.
Please be assured that we are committed to delivering all our students an outstanding education while prioritising your health, safety and wellbeing. We want to ensure that whatever you are studying, at whatever level, you are given the best possible opportunity to progress and succeed in your studies.
Your timetables will be updated by 19 April to reflect the current situation.
We will be emailing our students in University accommodation next week with an update following this announcement.
Accessing Our Campuses
The government has also confirmed that the national lockdown easing applies to our campuses, enabling us to now open up more of our facilities and services.
In addition to our Library and study spaces being open, we are pleased to confirm that Student Support, i-zone and IT Teams are now available at Augustine House. Our catering outlets, gym and bookshop have also reopened. For the full range of support and services currently available on campus and online please click here.
We are pleased to be able to welcome all the following students on to our campuses now:
- those whoare timetabled to come on to campus as part of our blended learning approach,
- those who do not have access to appropriate study spaces or resources,
- those who have concerns about their mental health and wellbeing,
- those who have remained at their university address e.g. international students.
The government is asking everyone to minimise travel where possible. Where you do need to travel, you should follow safer travel guidance.
The testing COVID-19 programme is vital in helping to break the chain of transmission and identifying asymptomatic infections. On returning to university, the government is recommending that students take three tests at an on-site testing facility (3-4 days apart) – so please ensure you leave enough time to get tested before you need to be on campus. You should then test twice a week, either using home test kits or at an onsite facility. Click here to book your test.
