Being able to earn some extra cash, plan a budget and live within your means is a good start to new independent living, it is particularly important when at University to learn how to live on a budget.  A part-time job is also a great way to develop skills, try something new, settle in and make some new friends.

The CORE – Online & Face-to-Face Careers Support

Once registered as a student, you will have access to ‘The CORE’, an online information platform available via your Blackboard. Here you can find tips and information to help you with your job search, application and interview, as well as advice on how to start up your own business.

Our CORE drop-in desk is open Monday – Friday, 1.00-5.00pm (Canterbury Campus, weekly at Broadstairs, by appointment at Medway). Here you can get your CV, cover letter or job application checked, and find out where to look for jobs, placements and volunteering opportunities. There is specialist support for disabled students. And you can also book a Careers Advice Appointment to discuss your next steps, career options and more with a Careers Consultant.
