We are pleased to announce on 3 August the library will be open for Click and Study, as part of phase two of the reopening of the building. This will make a limited number of bookable computer desks and study spaces in Augustine House available for essential work, research or study.
The plan is to start small and safe, test processes and slowly expand our services so we are ready to welcome new and returning students in September.
We will start by opening up the study spaces, PCs, Macs and printing facilities on a single floor. Initially this will be the ground floor but to support cleaning of the study spaces, the floor available may occasionally vary. We will test our processes, build confidence and look to increase the study space coverage over the coming weeks.
Please be assured we will be following Government guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all of our students, staff and visitors.
What services are now available?
The following services are now available in Augustine House. Please remember you will require your smartcard to access the building. If you have lost or misplaced your smartcard, you will need to make arrangements for a replacement by contacting the i-zone.
- ‘Click and Study‘ – from 3 August you will be able to book a study space. All spaces are to be used for individual study and will be 2 metres apart from each other. You will be able to book a study space up to two weeks in advance. There is currently no access to the library open shelves, so if you wish to access any books whilst you’re studying please remember to book your items in advance by Click and Collect.

- Book Returns via the self-service return machines. We have extended the due date of all library items (including Document Delivery) you have on loan until 28 September so you don’t need to rush to return them in the first days of re-opening. There are no fines for late returns.
- ‘Click and Collect’ – you will be able to reserve physical books, DVDs and the Curriculum Resources Collection available on the shelf in Augustine House for collection via the self-service Reservation Pick up point.
- ‘Scan and Deliver’ – this new service will enable the ordering of digitised scans of journal articles and book chapters from the Augustine House print collection where copyright rules allow.

Other services and facilities will become available over the coming weeks and we look forward to providing you further updates.
