Arranging to collect your belongings from accommodation
Good news! The Government have now updated their advice to allow students to travel to University to collect their belongings that have been left in their rooms.
You will only be able to do this by making an appointment with us, so that we can make sure that it is safe for students and staff, and one-hour appointments are available from Wednesday 27 May to Saturday 20 June 2020.
You room will need to be cleared by 20 June 2020.
If you are unable to come back to collect your belongings before that date, please reply to this email with an update about this. We will then get in touch with you to discuss shipping and storage options.
Before you travel to pick up your belongings, please ensure you have:
- Booked an appointment (click here)
- Sent a self-declaration (below) for yourself to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Sent a self-declaration (below) for your 1 additional person to email@example.com.
We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone to our accommodation. If you have not completed the above you will not be able to enter our accommodation sites. Only the student and 1 other person from the student’s household, will be allowed on site. Both parties must fill in and send the self-declaration forms below. Unfortunately, the staff on sites will not be able to assist with loading of vehicles.
If once you have booked a date/time slot, you have to change your arrangements, there is a “Manage Booking” function on your confirmation email, that you can use, to reschedule the original booking. Only one booking per student is allowed.
Please note that for Data Protection purposes, your information will be passed on to our Security team, so that they are aware of your proposed visit details.
Finally, please complete your Departure online Inventory within 7 days of your final departure, to note any issues that you want to report.
If you need any further information, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Extension to Stay
Please email the accommodation team if you require an extension to stay. We cannot guarantee you can stay in the same room but we will try our best. Terms and Conditions will also apply.
If you have any library books in your Accommodation, you can book a time slot to drop your books in a designated library books returns box at the University St George’s Centre (St. George’s Centre Canterbury Kent, CT1 1UT, View in Google maps). Note that St Georges building is card-access only so bring your smartcard to access the building.
Stay safe and well and have a good journey down to Canterbury.
