What do the Student Life and Guidance (SLG) Team do?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SLG team can meet with you face-to-face and online if you are experiencing any issues you would like to discuss. The team may be able to assist you with your issue or can signpost you to other services if necessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student Support Coordinator – Ellie Clifford (she\/her)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ellie is super happy to be joining KMMS as the newest member of the SLG team! Ellie previously worked in Admissions for the University of Kent and KMMS, and after witnessing the enthusiasm, passion and commitment of aspiring doctors decided she would love to help support KMMS students throughout the entirety of their studies, not just the initial first step. Her academic background is in Chemistry, and she has previously worked with young people and students in a variety of settings, including at a University Esports Centre. She loves movies, video games, and all sorts of arts and crafts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s one fact about you from your uni days?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For my Master\u2019s project, I created an organic chemistry revision-based board game, which was very different to that of my peers! However, it was so much fun and was a great way to explore my passion for education at an early stage, whilst avoiding the lab, which I was less of a fan of. I got to work with students from a variety of years whilst testing the board game, which was harder to recruit volunteers for than you\u2019d think, but luckily, I did bring them pizza \ud83d\ude06 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s one piece of advice you want to give to students?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t be afraid to ask for help. University can be overwhelming for a lot of people, but there is no shame in reaching out. As well it\u2019s a great time to try new things! Don\u2019t be afraid to put yourself out there and do the things that you haven\u2019t had the chance to do before. Societies, sport clubs and any other extracurriculars are a great way to enhance your learning and overall University experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you were to go back and study again now, what subject would you choose?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hmm maybe something creative? Although I am grateful for the transferable skills that Chemistry gave me and think I\u2019d prefer to keep art\/drama\/film as hobbies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
