{"id":460,"date":"2014-02-26T17:42:35","date_gmt":"2014-02-26T17:42:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/canterburypolitics.wordpress.com\/?p=460"},"modified":"2018-09-18T14:35:34","modified_gmt":"2018-09-18T13:35:34","slug":"agent-generale-of-the-quebec-government-to-the-uk-to-give-talk-at-cccu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/politics\/2014\/02\/26\/agent-generale-of-the-quebec-government-to-the-uk-to-give-talk-at-cccu\/","title":{"rendered":"Agent Generale of the Quebec Government to the UK to Give Talk at CCCU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the Canadian Federal Series of events we are delighted to announce that on Thursday, 27 February 2014.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gouv.qc.ca\/portail\/quebec\/international\/royaumeuni\/delegation\/londres\/chefposte\/\">Mr Stephane Paquet, the Agent Generale of the Quebec Government to the UK<\/a>\u00a0will talk about &#8220;Contemporary Issues in Canadian Federalism &#8211;\u00a0 The View from Quebec&#8221;.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This will take place\u00a0<strong>Thursday, 27 February at 6pm in Og32 (Old Sessions House<\/strong>) with the generous assistance of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadainternational.gc.ca\/united_kingdom-royaume_uni\/index.aspx?lang=eng\">High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>No registration is required and the event is free.<\/p>\n<div>\n<dl id=\"\">\n<dt><a href=\"http:\/\/canterburypolitics.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/02\/stephane-paquet1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-459\" src=\"http:\/\/canterburypolitics.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/02\/stephane-paquet1.jpg?w=158\" alt=\"Image\" width=\"158\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a><\/dt>\n<dd>Image via www.gouv.qc.ca<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<p>St\u00e9phane Paquet assumed his duties in December 2012 after working in the media sector for over 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>From 1991 to 2001, he was a reporter, copy editor and assignment editor at Radio-Canada television in the Maritimes, Regina and Montr\u00e9al. He subsequently turned to print media, specializing in economic journalism. He began at Le Soleil in Qu\u00e9bec City in the fall of 2001 before joining La Presse in Montr\u00e9al where he worked from 2003 to 2010.<\/p>\n<p>He became assistant publisher and editor-in-chief at the Les Affaires Group (TC Media) in the fall of 2010. In that capacity, he was responsible for the Les Affaires weekly, A+ Magazine and the LesAffaires.com website. He also took part in strategic discussions concerning the Les Affaires Group.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Paquet received a fellowship to participate in the U.S. Department of State\u2019s Young Leaders Program.
