The tour as usual was facilitated by the office of local MP Julian Brazier and provided an excellent opportunity for undergraduates to view the chambers and gain an insight into the history of the palace.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1165\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1165\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/canterburypolitics.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/02\/visit-to-parliament-i.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1165\" src=\"https:\/\/canterburypolitics.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/02\/visit-to-parliament-i.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"Visit to Parliament\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1165\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Visit to Parliament<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The tour took place on the same day as the 5<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.co.uk\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=13&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=0CFMQFjAM&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bbc.com%2Fnews%2Fuk-31041370&amp;ei=8OfRVKTjEs_waO_8gKAK&amp;usg=AFQjCNGMUNHLDgS2U3_L1yoU-AXMpPCHMw&amp;sig2=lah_VYqs8JWRFkYxnfxDxw&amp;bvm=bv.85076809,d.d2s\">0th anniversary of Winston Churchill\u2019s funeral<\/a> which gave an interesting backdrop to the trip.
