We were on a mission: engage with as many people as possible, spread\u00a0the word about our Learning and Teaching\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/partnersinlearning\/your-guide-your-experience-learning-and-teaching-at-cccu\/\" target=\"_blank\">project<\/a>, and show everyone exactly what\u00a0we can do here at <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/partnersinlearning\/hello-and-welcome\/\" target=\"_blank\">Partners in Learning<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The stage was set.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We had colourful flyers, a pin-board designed by the students outlining the <em>nine key principles<\/em> of the Strategy, an interactive counter poll,\u00a0plenty of sweets\u00a0and chocolate&#8230;we even got to wear\u00a0Learning and\u00a0Teaching strategy t-shirts (made by one of our very own team members!).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-286\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/partnersinlearning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/481\/2016\/03\/IMG_4368-Resized.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_4368 - Resized\" width=\"680\" height=\"453\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/partnersinlearning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/481\/2016\/03\/IMG_4368-Resized.jpg 680w, https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/partnersinlearning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/481\/2016\/03\/IMG_4368-Resized-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We asked the Team members to reflect on their\u00a0time at the Applicant Day.<\/p>\n<p>We got a lot of positive feedback:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The applicant day was an amazing experience and a great way to get face to face interactions with people and the poll\/sweets was a great way to get people involved as it was interactive and different from most other stalls that were around us.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230;we had a fun and colourful board with the 9 principles of the strategy dotted around it and a Prezi of the strategy playing in the background. Students were very engaged and we received 39+ direct interactions with the poll and 60+ interactions using leaflets.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230;all those that interacted asked questions or took leaflets and there was a good amount of time to engage on a more personal level with students.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As well as some constructive feedback (which we will use to help make the next open day even better):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I feel like some kind of training would be useful as it was very difficult to explain such a vast strategy in the tiniest amount of time and I feel that this particular Applicant Day was a good way of working out how to do that so that it is easier for everyone else in the future.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-302\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/partnersinlearning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/481\/2016\/03\/IMG_4418-resized.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_4418 - resized\" width=\"680\" height=\"453\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/partnersinlearning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/481\/2016\/03\/IMG_4418-resized.jpg 680w, https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/partnersinlearning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/481\/2016\/03\/IMG_4418-resized-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Overall, the Applicant Day was a great way to spread the word about our project.
