Sending Christmas Wishes from Partners in Learning and reflecting on the past year.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It\u2019s that time of year again; and the Student Opportunities Department took a trip away from the office, to the Student Union for an end of year celebration. Students and staff from arrivals and orientation, peer mentoring, volunteering and ChristChurch Extra and of course Partners in Learning, donned Christmas hats and enjoyed a delicious festive meal.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a year full of exciting opportunities for Partners in Learning:<\/p>\n

\"jan\"<\/p>\n

In January we hired Daniel Loveday to join our team as a photographer to document our journey through the project.<\/p>\n

\"feb\"<\/p>\n

February saw the success of Gabbie, Sophie and Savannah at the University\u2019s Applicant Day, where they introduced the Learning and Teaching Strategy to students and parents looking around the University.<\/p>\n

\"mar\"<\/p>\n

In March we spent a day constructing a physical version of the \u2018Learning and Teaching Strategy\u2019 in the form of a handbook, by literally cutting and sticking bits of paper and images to create something totally creative.<\/p>\n

We also hosted the World Caf\u00e9 Event for CCPIP, gathering student opinion, during this month.<\/p>\n

The Partners in Learning space was being used to its full potential throughout April<\/p>\n

\"may\"<\/p>\n

We celebrated success at the Student Opportunity Awards winning \u2018Outstanding Organisation of the Year\u2019 in May.<\/p>\n

\"jun\"<\/p>\n

In June we presented at the University\u2019s Annual Learning & Teaching Conference, where we\u00a0gave the keynote address on\u00a0our work on the Learning & Teaching Strategy.<\/p>\n

\"july\"<\/p>\n

Georgia began a summer internship in July with Partners in Learning.<\/p>\n

\"aug\"<\/p>\n

The student-friendly Learning & Teaching Strategy was finalised in August.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"sep\"<\/p>\n

September saw Phil, Georgia and Lucy attend the RAISE Conference in Loughborough where they presented on their experience with Student Engagement and the projects they have been working on (The Learning & Teaching Project and Culturosity).\u00a0 At the conference a peer-review journal was launched, in which, one of our students had her opinion piece published!<\/p>\n

We also received some good response at registration events with new students expressing an interest in Partners in Learning.<\/p>\n

And were invited to a Senior Management Team meeting where we spoke about the importance of Student Engagement activity, particularly in regards to retention.<\/p>\n

\u2026it was a busy month!<\/p>\n

In October a fun video was produced explaining the Learning & Teaching Strategy in a student-friendly way.<\/p>\n

Busy planning for the year ahead in November.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Which brings us to December where we turned the Partners in Learning space into a grotto!! Also tying up loose ends and deciding on the way forward for next year; we already have an agenda to discuss at our \u2018Development Day\u2019 in January.<\/p>\n
