You may have been to one of our previous <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/library\/have-your-say-at-shape-our-library-24-november-2025\/\" title=\"Have your say at \u2018Shape Our Library\u2019 \u2013 24 November 2025\"><strong>Shape Our Library<\/strong><\/a> feedback events, written a letter to the library at our themed <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/library\/this-halloween-write-a-letter-to-the-library\/\" title=\"This Halloween\u2026 Write A Letter to the Library\"><strong>Halloween<\/strong><\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/library\/write-a-valentines-letter-to-the-library-2026\/\" title=\"Write a Valentines Letter to the Library 2026\"><strong>Valentine\u2019s Day<\/strong><\/a> activities, used our <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=2rIgA90iq02MIW5kS6FPE5xbW3sInx1Licw7WPNyJqRUNEZRUEE0VUNKQ1kyVE5HOUpGQURDSTdZMiQlQCN0PWcu\" title=\"\"><strong>website feedback form<\/strong><\/a> or spoken to a member of the library team. Over the summer and the forthcoming academic year. we\u2019re looking at making improvements across the library at Augustine House based on your feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019d like to talk to Library staff about the upcoming changes, we\u2019ll be holding some special Shape Our Library events on the ground floor of Augustine House: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Thursday 30 April <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tuesday 5 May<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wednesday 13 May<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll find us opposite the atrium cafe. Drop by at anytime between 11:00 &#8211; 15:00 to take a look at floor plans, talk to staff, suggest titles for our new collection of relaxing reads or get creative and help us design our family room. There&#8217;s lots to find out and feedback on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s have a look at some of the upcoming changes and come along to the Shape Our Library event to find out more.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New silent zone<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For students who like to study in a silent zone, you have let us know the third-floor silent zone is often disturbed by the neighbouring lecture theatre which can be used for teaching and events. We are creating a new silent zone on the third floor on the opposite side of the building. You may have already seen staff busy in this space relocating stock as we plan to build new partition walls to minimise noise and disturbance and make the silent zone as effective as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>New postgraduate study area<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As we\u2019ve <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/library\/new-library-postgraduate-study-space\/\"><strong>previously announced<\/strong><\/a> we are currently working on improving the Postgraduate study area and planning to relocate it to the second floor of Augustine House. We are interested in speaking to Postgraduate students about improving the space before we relocate it during the summer. Over the summer we are building new ones on the first floor of Augustine House in the alcoves between the existing group study rooms with the aim to add one large group study room and two small group study rooms to the floor. We are also working to provide two new individual study rooms on the ground floor of Augustine House.<br><br>We\u2019re also looking at more furniture options to provide group study options by adding more sofa booths like those on the ground floor and a new boardroom style setup on the first floor. We are working on the creation of a family room on the ground floor of Augustine House. A safe space where parents can study whilst their children can access a small range of books, toys and other resources.<strong><br><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A new book collection focusing on relaxation and personal development<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We are curating a collection comprised of fiction and non-fiction for leisure reading and personal development. The collection will be held on the ground floor and will be furnished for a more relaxing cosy vibe.
