Throughout the year we provide you the opportunity to feedback to us. You may have taken part in some of our feedback activities last year. You may have written us a letter on Valentine\u2019s Day, attended a Shape Our Library event or simply left us feedback via our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=2rIgA90iq02MIW5kS6FPE5xbW3sInx1Licw7WPNyJqRUNEZRUEE0VUNKQ1kyVE5HOUpGQURDSTdZMiQlQCN0PWcu\"><strong>feedback form<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Early next year students will get a chance to feedback to the University in the NSS, PTES and PRES student surveys. That feedback is really important to us and it drives real change, so if you get a chance to feedback through one of those surveys, please make sure you do. In this first part of a two-part series, we\u2019re looking at the feedback we\u2019ve received about library resources and how easy they are to access. That includes the books, e-books, journal articles and online resources you make daily use of in your studies, research or teaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:11px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">LibrarySearch improvements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following on from the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/library\/we-hear-you-improving-access-to-library-resources\/\"><strong>changes made in 2024<\/strong><\/a>, LibrarySearch received another <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/library\/librarysearch-is-getting-new-discovery-tools\/\"><strong>major new update<\/strong><\/a>. The planned Frontlist titles for 2025 can be viewed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/innovate.ieee.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/2025-Manning-eBooks-Library-Tentative-Frontlist-Titles-2.1.2025.xlsx\"><strong>IEEE Xplore website<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Purchasing titles based on &#8216;turnaways&#8217;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Some e-book purchases are based on \u201cturnaways\u201d, as we actively seek to purchase titles students have had difficulty accessing in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Emerald eBooks &#8211; A selection of 50 titles across multiple disciplines purchased based on turnaways.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oxford handbooks online Psychology 2020 to 2025 collections &#8211; 343 titles purchased based on turnaways.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Building your e-book collection through \u201cUser Acquisition\u201d models<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We are working with specific publishers to run user acquisition models. They provide access to a broad collection of titles for a year and we select titles for purchase at the end, based on your usage. Students can suggest e-books for the library to <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=2rIgA90iq02MIW5kS6FPE78mIivt2JtKpXfN3PFUvYdUQUVVNkM4RjVERVBYU1lCODRGQkRJSk1LMCQlQCN0PWcu\"><strong>purchase through the link on LibrarySearch<\/strong><\/a>. Your suggestions help us grow our e-book holdings!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Oxford Intersections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Oxford&nbsp;Intersections&nbsp;is&nbsp;an&nbsp;interdisciplinary&nbsp;research&nbsp;initiative&nbsp;by&nbsp;Oxford&nbsp;University&nbsp;Press,&nbsp;aimed at addressing complex&nbsp;global&nbsp;issues&nbsp;through&nbsp;original&nbsp;research&nbsp;from&nbsp;multiple&nbsp;academic disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve added access to two Oxford Intersections to our digital collection:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1093\/9780198945215.001.0001\"><strong>Oxford Intersections: AI in Society<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 An interdisciplinary collection of written works exploring AI\u2019s societal impact across different geographical and disciplinary boundaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/edited-volume\/59763\"><strong>Oxford Intersections: Racism by context<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 provides a holistic and interconnected view of racism.
