{"id":71450,"date":"2024-12-17T14:33:10","date_gmt":"2024-12-17T14:33:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/library\/?p=71450"},"modified":"2024-12-17T14:34:33","modified_gmt":"2024-12-17T14:34:33","slug":"open-access-policy-for-ref-2029","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/library\/open-access-policy-for-ref-2029\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Access Policy for REF 2029"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/2029.ref.ac.uk\/guidance\/ref-2029-open-access-policy\/%20?\">Open Access Policy for REF2029<\/a>&nbsp;has been published on the REF website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It includes some changes from the REF2021 Open Access Policy, but there will be&nbsp;<strong>no requirement for long-form publications to be made open access.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The REF2029 Open Access Policy requirements will not come into force until\u00a0<strong>1\u00a0January 2026.\u00a0<\/strong>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canterbury.ac.uk\/library-services\/support-my-research\/open-access\">REF2021 Open Access Policy requirements<\/a>, that articles and conference proceedings published with an ISSN must be made open access within three months of acceptance for publication, will remain in place until then. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please read the new policy and contact&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:library.researchsupport@canterbury.ac.uk\">library.researchsupport@canterbury.ac.uk<\/a>&nbsp;if you have any questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The&nbsp;Open Access Policy for REF2029&nbsp;has been published on the REF website.
