But you might be wondering:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How do I borrow a book?&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How many items can I take out at once?&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What if I need more time \u2013 can I renew my items?&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can I reserve a book from Medway or Salomons if it\u2019s not available at Augustine House?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This guide will tell you everything you need to know about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canterbury.ac.uk\/library-services\/borrowing\/borrowing-returning-and-reservations\" title=\"\"><strong>borrowing from the Library<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What can I borrow?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All Canterbury and Salomons students can borrow:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>20 items from the 4-week loan collection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10 items from the 7-day loan collection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>20 items from the Curriculum Resources collection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Medway students can borrow 40 items across all loan types.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do I borrow items from the library?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have found the book you want to borrow, you can use your Student ID card as your library card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All you need to do is take your Student ID card and book to a self-issue machine and follow the instructions on the screen. Some large items might be too big to issue on the self-issue machine, in which case, take the items to the library point at Augustine House or Salomons library. So we make sure your items automatically renew for you. Items will be automatically renewed (in accordance with their loan period) on a rolling basis two days before they are due. However, if the items have been reserved by another user they will not be automatically renewed and the item will need to be returned by its due date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:58px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">No more library fines!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We do not charge library fines on any CCCU items. If you&#8217;re late returning an item, you simply won&#8217;t be able to borrow anything new until you return it. There are still late charges for items borrowed from other Universities through the Document Delivery Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:57px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If the item is already on loan? How do I reserve an item?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If all the copies of the item you want to borrow are out on loan, don\u2019t worry you can easily reserve the item, so you are next in line to borrow it. To reserve an item, log in to <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/libsearch.canterbury.ac.uk\/\" title=\"LibrarySearch\">LibrarySearch<\/a> <\/strong>and search for the item you need. Once you click on the title of the item, you can click on the &#8220;place reservation&#8221; button to reserve it.
