{"id":23133,"date":"2020-09-02T17:18:17","date_gmt":"2020-09-02T16:18:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/library\/?page_id=23133"},"modified":"2022-02-02T12:22:38","modified_gmt":"2022-02-02T12:22:38","slug":"kanopy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/library\/kanopy\/","title":{"rendered":"Kanopy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Kanopy is a video streaming service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why use it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It gives you access to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Access to a large, curated catalogue of over 30,000 educational documentaries and classic films from leading producers.<\/li><li>A wide range of subject coverage (e.g. Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, Education, Health and Sciences)<\/li><li>Content that you can watch anytime, anywhere and on any device including via media streaming apps.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How do I use it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Kanopy at Canterbury Christ Church University\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/454072194?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption>This video explains how to access and use Kanopy<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where can I find it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Go to&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/libsearch.canterbury.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LibrarySearch<\/a>&nbsp;or access it via the University Services on your Blackboard.<\/li><li>Log in using your CCCU username and password. If you are away from campus, or connecting with your own device over Wi-Fi, you will need to include @canterbury.ac.uk after your CCCU username.<\/li><li>Select Find Databases, then click on <strong>K<\/strong>, finally click on the link to Kanopy to open it in a new tab.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Accessibility features<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Kanopy&#8217;s website and video player works with screen reader technologies on desktop browsers, as well as iOS and Android devices.<\/li><li>The videos are accompanied by captions, subtitles and transcripts.
