You need an <strong>open access (OA) publication<\/strong>. <a class=\"aioseop-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jisc.ac.uk\/guides\/an-introduction-to-open-access\"><strong>Open access<\/strong><\/a> publications are those which are <strong>online and freely accessible to be read and used by anyone<\/strong>.\u00a0 Perhaps you&#8217;re an author who has chosen to publish your work on an open access platform, and you want to be sure that readers will discover it? Publishers and scholarly information specialists have developed\u00a0<strong>discovery tools<\/strong>\u00a0to make open access publications easy to find. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Directories<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>So that reputable and high-quality publications and publishers of open access material can easily be identified, an internationally-recognised system of accreditation has evolved. This has led to the development of two directories. These only include items from publishers&nbsp;that are regularly assessed, and whose publications must continue to meet the stated criteria to remain in the directories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ),&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.doaj.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.doaj.org<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\u200bThe definitive list of academically rigorous\u00a0OA titles.\u00a0Originating at Lund University, Sweden,\u00a0DOAJ\u00a0indexes over 12,000 journals which meet their Board&#8217;s\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.doaj.org\/publishers#advice\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>criteria for openness<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 Free journals which require readers to register are excluded.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB),&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.doabooks.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.doabooks.org<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Over 20,000 peer-reviewed academic e-books which are free to read, primarily in humanities and social science disciplines.&nbsp;
